  This property is more or less in the middle of town and within walking distance of York Minister. However, that is not the problem.
  
  We were part of a large Trafalgar group and were in room 105. Although the staff at the reception was very cheerful and cooperative, it's the room that was not satisfactory. Perhaps this is what Trafalgar ordered.
  
  Today was about the warmest day in York and our room has no air conditioning, no fans and to make matters worse, the window tilts open two inches. Oh yes, a pedestal fan was provided on request but the cramped room was stuffy. There is no cupboard neither is there a locker. So we have to make do. Literally opposite the hotel, a new Travelodge has opened its premises and I'm sure they rooms that have air conditioning.
  
  So if you are planning to stay in Hotel 53, make sure your room has an AC or at least a fan.
